Supporting Organizations that Strengthen the Community
SRFFCU grants sponsorships and donations to organizations, events, and projects that contribute to and enhance the Ukrainian American community in the geographic regions that SRFFCU serves.
Sponsorship and Donation Focus Areas for Support
SRFFCU considers requests tied to areas like:
- Events or projects whose focus is the promotion of Ukrainian arts, culture, language, and community awareness.
- Activities and events that are undertaken by Ukrainian American charitable organizations, including activities in the US and as well as overseas, particularly in Ukraine.
- Organizations which support education, cultural programming, and community awareness
- Organizations that promote Ukrainian and Ukrainian American youth leadership, education, sports, and good citizenship
- Capacity-building and capital campaign support for charitable organizations
*All Applications will be considered for but not guaranteed funding.
Who Can Apply?
Not-for-profit and registered charitable organizations may apply. Organizations without 501(c)(3) status may still qualify. To do so, they must apply through an eligible sponsor. That sponsor must agree in writing to take responsibility for the project. They also must confirm that it will not serve private profit motives.
Criteria
General Eligibility Criteria
Submit all requests in writing. The letter should explain the event or project, the amount requested, and the audience or community it will serve. SRFFCU generally does not accept verbal requests unless extraordinary circumstances apply. Applicants may submit requests by email or mail.
Criteria Specific to Donations
SRFFCU considers donation requests from not-for-profit or registered charitable organizations. Organizations without 501(c)(3) status may still qualify. To do so, they must apply through an eligible sponsor. That sponsor must agree in writing to take responsibility that the project will be executed in accordance with the funding request and confirm that it will not serve private profit motives.
Criteria Specific to Sponsorships
Sponsorship requests must offer meaningful visibility or promotional value for SRFFCU. This may include use of the SRFFCU name or logo. It may also include speaking opportunities, display opportunities at events, or other forms of public recognition tied to the event or project.
Funding Limitations and Exclusions
Some requests are not eligible for support. These include:
- Individuals
- For-profit audio and film productions
- Projects linked to a political party, candidate, or labor organization
How to Apply
Please submit all requests in writing by mail or email. SRFFCU generally does not accept verbal requests. Please attach a letter that includes the following information:
- Title and Explanation of Project/Event/Activity
- Date(s) of Project/Event/Activity
- Location of Project/Event/Activity
- Budget or cost of Project/Event/Activity
- Amount requested for Project/Event/Activity
- The audience or community it will serve
SRFFCU reviews funding requests each month. Applicants should submit requests at least 60 days before the Project/Event/Activity start date.
Upon receiving an application, the SRFFCU reserves the right to request additional information from the applicant in order to assist in making a decision during the due diligence process.
