Privacy & Security

Protecting your personal and account information is a core part of banking with Self Reliance Financial Federal Credit Union. We take it seriously and these resources can help you understand how information is safeguarded, what to watch for, and where to find the policies and tools that support safer digital banking.

Protect Your Personal Information

SRFFCU will not call or email you asking for sensitive personal information like the following:

  • Account details
  • Passwords
  • Social Security numbers
  • IDs

If something feels suspicious, don’t respond right away. Instead, ask for the person’s name and extension if needed, then contact SRFFCU directly at 215-725-4430 or 212-473-7310. Regularly reviewing statements and transactions can also help you catch suspicious activity sooner.

How Your Information is Protected

Security measures help protect your information whether you bank in person, by phone, by mail, or online. These protections include identity verification, secure browser requirements for online services, encryption, firewalls, and multi-factor authentication in certain situations. Session timeouts also help reduce unauthorized access by logging users out after extended inactivity.

Stay Alert to Fraud and Scams

Fraud prevention starts with a few simple habits:

  • Use a different password for online banking than you use for other accounts
  • Don’t share your password
  • Always sign out of online banking when you finish using your account
  • If you receive a suspicious email or message claiming to be from the credit union, don’t reply or click links inside it.
  • If you do not already use online or mobile banking, enrolling can give you access to transaction notifications and balance alerts by text or email, which makes it easier to spot suspicious activity quickly.

Most of all, if something does not look right, call SRFFCU right away so the issue can be investigated.

Digital Banking Security

Online and mobile banking tools assist with closer account monitoring. Secure browsers, encrypted sessions, and added verification measures also protect information as it moves between your device and SRFFCU’s digital banking services.
