Social Media Posting Guidelines
Member participation through any of our social media accounts is welcomed and members are encouraged to share their experiences and suggestions. In order to maintain focused communication and establish clear expectations for participation, we have adopted the following guidelines.
SRFFCU’s social media channels are intended to provide general information, education, and engagement. They are not intended for account servicing or the communication of account-specific information. Members should not use social media to report lost or stolen cards, dispute transactions, request account maintenance, submit loan applications, change account information, or request assistance regarding specific accounts. For assistance with your account, please contact us directly through our official service channels.
- To ensure respectful, productive, and informative communication, users may not post any comments that include, but are not limited to, any of the following:
- Comments posted that focus on selling a product or service or that are intended to divert traffic to a particular website for personal or monetary gain are not permitted and will be deleted. This includes spam.
- Comments posted that are not related to the topic at hand are not permitted and will be deleted. Comments posted by users must be related to the topic.
- Comments posted that include illegal information are not permitted and will be deleted. All laws that govern the use of copyrights, trademarks, etc., must be followed.
- Comments posted that are disrespectful or that are personal attacks on any individual or entity are not permitted and will be deleted.
- Comments posted with malicious intent are not permitted and will be deleted.
- Comments posted that include any kind of profanity or that are derogatory in content are not permitted and will be deleted. This includes any threats, obscenity, sexually explicit language, and hateful, ethnic or racially derogatory comments.
- Comments posted that include confidential, personal, or account-related information are not permitted and will be deleted. For your protection, do not share account numbers, passwords, PINs, Social Security numbers, transaction information, or other sensitive personal information through social media, as information shared through these channels may be visible to others and may not be secure.
- Comments posted to report emergencies, fraud, security incidents, suspicious activity, or other urgent matters are not appropriate for social media channels and may be removed. Social media accounts are not monitored at all times. Members requiring immediate assistance should contact SRFFCU directly through official service channels.
- Comments that are fraudulent, misleading, deceptive, defamatory, harassing, discriminatory, or otherwise inappropriate may be removed at SRFFCU’s discretion.
- Comments posted that contain misleading or deceptive content, including content generated or altered using artificial intelligence (AI) or similar technologies for the purpose of impersonation, fraud, misinformation, or misrepresentation, may be removed at SRFFCU’s discretion.
- Users who violate the guidelines or abuse the social media channels for any purpose other than for intended use may be blocked or permanently banned.
- SRFFCU reserves the right to modify these guidelines at any time at its sole discretion and will make the most current version available online. SRFFCU also reserves the right, but is not obligated, to monitor, review, respond to, edit, hide, remove, report, restrict access to, or refuse to post any content that violates these guidelines or is otherwise deemed inappropriate, unlawful, or inconsistent with the purpose of the social media channel.
- SRFFCU may utilize automated technologies, including artificial intelligence tools, to assist with content moderation, monitoring, and administrative functions relating to its social media channels. Such tools are intended to support, and not replace, human oversight.
- SRFFCU may occasionally direct you to third-party links or sites to share articles of interest. Links to third-party websites are provided as a convenience. SRFFCU does not control or guarantee the accuracy, security, privacy practices, or content of third-party websites and is not responsible for their content.
- SRFFCU does not endorse any comments made by its employees on any of its social media accounts. Statements and comments made are the views of the person making them and do not in any way represent the views or opinions of SRFFCU. Any comments and opinions posted to any social media outlet are not to be used as an official comment or endorsement of a credit union authorized spokesperson.
- By posting or submitting content to any SRFFCU social media channel, you grant SRFFCU a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, reproduce, publish, display, distribute, and otherwise use such content in connection with SRFFCU’s business, educational, informational, and marketing purposes, without compensation or further permission, subject to applicable law.
